The Texans have never played in a Super Bowl, but as they are only 23 years, they haven’t exactly been long suffering. They seemed poised to make a deep run in the playoffs, but they just haven’t gotten over the hump. They also play in the AFC South, a division with only 2 collective Super Bowls, the least decorated division in the NFL. They do get a x2 relocation multiplier for being less than 30 years removed from the Oilers leaving for Tennessee to become the Titans, and they are younger than 30 years as a franchise.
No Super Bowl wins (+23)
No Super Bowls played (+23)
They did make the playoffs in 2024 (+0)
The only AFC South team with any title wins is the Indianapolis Colts, who’ve won once during the time the Texans have been a franchise (+1)
drought total=47
When a team has no titles, their expected win rate is 1 over the time the team has been competing so 23(1/23)=1
drought x win rate=47
They made the playoffs both of the last 2 seasons, and had the same record, yet again another x1 multiplier 1-(.588-.588)=1
year over year times previous rate=47
Relocation multiplier x 2
Misery Index=94
It seems only a matter of time before Houston notches their first SB win, but until then they have a lot to prove. Next time I’ll review the Calgary Flames of the NHL
